Press Release San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s 15th Anniversary Series of Hearts in San Francisco Sculptures Now on Public Display January 18, 2019 Six Tabletop and 17 Mini Hearts Featured at Macy’s Union Square, Wilkes Bashford, and Anthem Home Prior to Hearts in SF Event Iconic Public Art Project Raises Funds for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation to Support Vital Mental Health Care Programs and Initiatives at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Specialty Hearts-Inspired Cupcakes Available at San Francisco Kara’s Cupcakes During the Month of February SAN FRANCISCO (January 17, 2019) — San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (the Foundation) has announced that the tabletop and mini Heart sculptures from the 15th anniversary collection of the iconic Hearts in San Francisco public art project will be on display at Macy’s Union Square, Wilkes Bashford, and Anthem Home leading up to the Hearts in SF event on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Additionally, Kara’s Cupcakes will be offering a specialty hearts-inspired cookies and cream cupcake for $3.75 at all of their San Francisco locations (excluding SFO) during the month of February, with $.25 of each cupcake being donated to the Foundation. Currently, two tabletop Hearts from the 2019 series are on display in the store windows of Anthem Home (3274 Sacramento St., San Francisco) now through January 24, all six tabletop Hearts will then be on display in the storefront windows of Wilkes Bashford (375 Sutter St., San Francisco) from January 28–February 11. The entire collection of 17 mini Hearts will be on display on the third floor of Macy’s Union Square (170 O’Farrell St., San Francisco) from February 1–11. All 31 Heart sculptures will be transported to Pier 48 for the Hearts in SF evening event on February 13, with select Hearts available for auction on eBay during the February 4 – February 14. Following the fundraising event, three large Heart sculptures will join the legendary Tony Bennett “America’s Greatest City By the Bay” heart at Union Square from February 14– October 31, 2019. All proceeds from the Heart sculptures benefit essential life-enhancing programs and initiatives at Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (Zuckerberg San Francisco General) (ZSFG). Hearts in San Francisco artworks, combined with Hearts events proceeds (2004–2018), have raised more than $22 million as well as worldwide awareness.
