Adult Urgent Care Moved

On February 21, 2019, the Adult Urgent Care Center at ZSFG relocated to Building 5, 1st floor, unit 1E.

Adult Urgent Care will be the first clinic to relocate to Building 5 as part of campus-wide effort to centralize outpatient clinics. Relocating Adult Urgent Care will improve safety for our patients, staff and visitors. In addition, expanding the clinic space will improve access to care for patients, and help decrease wait times. In preparation for this relocation, the Adult Urgent Care Center will be closed all day on Tuesday, February 19, and Wednesday, February 20. Adult Urgent Care will reopen on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 8:00 am. The hours of operation in the new location will remain the same.

More than 20,000 patients visited the Adult Urgent Care Center in 2018. Adult Urgent Care provides same-day urgent medical care for illnesses or injuries that are not life-threatening. If possible, patients should try to make an appointment with their Primary Care Health Center before visiting Adult Urgent Care.

Other outpatient clinics, located in Building 80 on the ZSFG campus, will soon be relocating to Building 5, which will become an Ambulatory Center.

The $1.8 million Adult Urgent Care project was partially funded by the 2016 Public Health and Safety Bond (Prop A) and the City’s Capital Budget (Capital Planning Committee). The project used design services from our partners at the San Francisco Department of Public Works, and pre-construction and optimization work from Facilities Services at the Department of Public Health.

In total, ZSFG received $222 million for capital projects from the Public Health and Safety Bond. San Francisco voters approved the measure by 80%. The largest project will be seismically retrofitting Building 5 to make the infrastructure safer in an earthquake.
