Urgent care is available if you have an injury or illness requiring immediate care, but not serious enough to require an emergency room visit.
If so, your first step is to call your clinic.
During business hours
When you call, follow the prompts to speak with our Nurse Advice Line. Nurses are available to provide you with care Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM. If needed, your nurse may schedule you with an appointment at your clinic or with a provider over the telephone.
If you are a patient at our 6M Children’s Health Center, your call will be transferred to a provider in clinic to help you.
When your clinic is closed
When you call, you will be transferred to an after-hours service. If needed, an on-call doctor from your clinic will be available to speak with you.
While it is always best to contact your primary care clinic first for urgent care needs, we also have three Urgent Care locations available. The Urgent Care Center and the Children’s Health Center, which are both located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, also welcome anyone in San Francisco needing urgent medical care.
This Center treats patients who are younger than 18 years old, and is open to anyone in San Francisco. It is located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, 1001 Potrero Ave, Building 5, Suite 6M (on the 6th Floor). It is open nights, weekends, and holidays.
